Well it’s practically fall. That means leaves are changing. It’s the season for sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, and oh yeah, it’s time for Apple’s annual event which means a slew of new Apple products and updates, including a new iOS!

Once again, we are thrilled that join.me is able to offer day one support when the new operating system goes live on Tuesday, September 19th!

The biggest change you’ll see with join.me’s iOS 11 on the iPad is new “drag and drop” functionality. By simply opening any app in split view, and dragging a file into the join.me app you can share over 54 file formats including images, Office and iWork documents, PDFs and more.

How to drag and drop a file on your iPad with iOS 11:

  1. Open the join.me app and then split view
  2. Select the app you want to share from the toolbar to open a split view with the chosen app
  3. Tap on the file you want to share, and drag it over to the join.me app
  4. join.me will automatically open the dropped file, and you can start to share it with the “Share” button on the top right corner of the join.me app

Along with our iPad updates with iOS 11, we’ve also updated the meeting controls so all attendees will have quicker access to the video, audio, sharing and invite features. We made similar updates to our Android app recently to improve the mobile experience across whatever kind of device you want to use.

In addition to the join.me app updates with iOS 11 we were excited to learn about new iPhones that will improve the quality of video with better cameras on both the front and back of the iPhones. As well as features that will enhance the clarity of screen sharing with “True Tone” display and faster processors. All features that we believe will make for a better meeting experience from your mobile device.

We even learned about some cool things Apple is doing with augmented reality. While join.me may not have AR capabilities just yet, we look forward to seeing how advancements from companies like Apple will continue to make working from your smart phone a better, more immersive experience in the months and years to come. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
