You heard right (sorry, I couldn’t resist). You can now use VoIP in join.me at beta.join.me. Why is it on our beta site? Because we want you to test it out, and tell us what you think at beta@join.me.
Let’s talk: VoIP (Voice over IP) technology allows you to call into the join.me audio conference from your computer. You can talk to anyone in the world, hands-free, for free. You can now choose to join the conference via the internet or your phone. No matter how you join the conference, you’ll be able to hear everyone on the conference, loud and clear. Let me repeat that, because it might be the coolest thing you’ll hear all day: No matter how you call in – from your phone, mobile app or computer – everyone will be connected on join.me. Check out our new “Phone” menu button in the join.me toolbar on the left. Click “connect” to join by internet.
Listen up: You can try VoIP by going to beta.join.me and either share your screen or join a session. Feel free to sign in to our beta site with your pro credentials to use your personal URL and background. If you start a join.me session on beta, don’t forget to tell your participants to join your sesion on beta.join.me so they can try VoIP, too.
One more thing: We want your feedback. Hey, that’s why we’re putting this on our beta site in the first place. We want you to test it out from your Mac or PC, try it every which way, and let us know what you think at beta@join.me.
yay!

VoIP!! This is HUGE!! Lack of VoIP was really the only major thing holding me back from going to a pro account. This will allow participants to add voice truly free of charge.
Will you be working in a way to mute participants or perhaps make a push-to-talk option? Larger meetings can get noisy if all mics are always hot.
Great work, gang!
I think join.me is an excellent product.
I have been testing the VOIP function in the Beta using 2 PC’s on the same home office network..
The call volume seemed very low despite my having the mic and speaker volumes at maximum in both the audio devices properties and in Join.me. I disconnected the call on one of the PC’s and re-connected and the volume was fine.
Wondewr why I needed to do that? Ideally, I need to test with other users e.g. customers and friends to see if I get the same experience there.
I also have some feedback about join.me abd am wondering where I can communicate it?
Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your note. I’m not sure why you needed to do that, but I would love it if you emailed me the specifics of what happened so I can pass it on to our audio developers. We’ll need a few things from you: Your OS, browsers, kind of computer, speaker/mic setup, internet connection, and if you remember that meeting code or not.
You are also welcome to send along any other feedback you have about join.me – just send it to maggie@join.me.

I love join.me it is very simple and easyt o use. I am doing a lot of product ttrining and the last thing participants needs to learn another system.
Welcome VolIP this is great I was waiting for that for a while. I tested with PC and Mac and it worked . Now I need to have a longer session and see how it goes.
Question: my default e-mail provider is Yahoo and I can not send automated join.me link via e-mail to my participants. So far I am doing manually. Any plans or work arounds to solve it????
Thnaks Sara M.
Hi Sara, can you send me an email of what happens when you try to send the automated email? Thanks – Maggie maggie@join.me
I tried it in Barcelona (Spain) and it worked perfectly. I performed the test with two Windows computers on the same building.
Positively ingenious design.
Also the new audio feature is a must have. However, and it may simply be because of my operating system (vista on gateway), but I am unable to use the viewer VOIP function in another’s session; no option to join by internet.
I’m just wondering if there was ever a previous instance of this occurring and how it could be resolved. Please, thank you, and keep up the great work!!

Anne, that shouldn’t be happening. If it happens again, please email me at maggie@join.me. Thanks – Maggie
Just tried it, others on the call were complaining about interference on the line…there was no way I could find to mute the line. Had to drop off and go back to normal phone call. Was really excited but doesn’t look like it is quite there yet.
Hi Tim, stay tuned to our beta – we have taken this ability to “mute all” into consideration.
